Building body image resilience by creating tools to utilize when you are experiencing difficult body image moments.
You'll get handouts and templates to help you learn more about your relationship with food and steps to take to heal from rules and guilt.
I am so excited that you are here.
I like to think that when you meet me, you can instantly tell that I LOVE what I do!
I practice from a weight-inclusive and trauma informed lens, meaning instead of focusing on changing your body size, I focus on health-promoting behaviors to help you improve your mental and physical health.
Using an evidence-based self-care eating framework called Intuitive Eating, alongside medical nutrition therapy, I will help you ditch rigid food rules and food guilt and learn how to nourish and connect to your mind and body.
Your body has the wisdom to take care of itself, but this connection can get disrupted through years of being told what to eat or not to eat for your health. I am passionate about helping you heal from nutrition misinformation so you can live a nourished and confident life with food. Nutrition is important, but stressing about food is simply not healthy!
Let me help you redefine how nutrition plays a role in your life.
Schedule a free 15-minute discovery call to see how we can best work together to achieve your health goals.
Attend your initial nutrition assessment to help us get to know each other and your nutrition needs.
We will continue to work together during follow-up sessions where we find out what is and isn't working and talk through strategies to continue to move through your healing journey.
when will the cycle end?
If you are ready to learn how to break the cycle and find ways to connect to your body and trust yourself around food, it's time to work with a dietitian and certified intuitive eating counselor who gets it and was once stuck in this cycle too!
A registered dietitian nutritionist is a food and nutrition expert who has met academic and professional requirements including:
Earned a bachelor's degree with course work approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Coursework typically includes food and nutrition sciences, foodservice systems management, business, economics, computer science, sociology, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology and chemistry.
Completed an accredited, supervised practice program at a health care facility, community agency or foodservice corporation.
Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Completes continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration on an ongoing basis. In 2024 all incoming RDNs will be required to have a master's degree.
I am currently in-network with Aetna, Highmark BCBS, and Independence Blue Cross including Keystone Health Plan East, Personal Choice, Independence Administrators, BCBS of IL, BCBS of MD, and CareFirst BCBS.
Typically, Aetna will cover 10-26 sessions per plan year (some with copays), IBX will cover 6 sessions per plan year, Highmark BCBS and other BCBS plans will cover unlimited sessions per plan year. However, you will need to contact your insurance company prior to your appointment to verify coverage with working with an in-network dietitian.
If you have a different insurance plan you may be able to submit a superbill to your insurance to seek reimbursement for nutrition services, if you have out-of-network coverage. This is something I can provide to you upon request.
The discovery call is a phone call and all other appointments (initial nutrition assessment and follow up appointments) are virtual! All of our virtual sessions are done via telehealth over the Simple Practice HIPAA secure platform.
I work with clients both short-term and long-term. Everyone's journey is different but typically I encourage appointments on a weekly or biweekly basis starting out as there is a lot of unlearning and learning that goes into healing your relationship with food. We will figure out a plan during our first appointment that makes sense for you and your goals!
I accept most major credit cards. You have the option to pay using a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) as well.
Yes! If you wanted to meet with me together, we would set up a 2 hour appointment for the initial and a 1.5 hour appointment for the follow up.
